I’m Mark Hochberg from NYU Tisch’s Department of Dance. I began my journey in exploring the world of dance when I was a kid. Now, I’m a student at one of the USA’s best schools for dance.
My focus is on contemporary dance, though I’ve also taken up modern and hip-hop dance. During my time here at Tisch, I’ve been introduced to an incredible culture of dance and study, and I’ve often been asked by many aspiring dance students on how to become a part of it.
This is why I’ve chosen to start a blog detailing the best ways to get into Tisch, along with great dance tips and knowledge, to help others reach their dreams just as I did. After all, I didn’t start as Mark Hochberg of NYU Tisch; I had to work for it, and I’m a firm believer that just like in dance, you have to take it step by step. The school is full of incredible teachers and opportunities in the dance industry.
Remember: It’s not just about turning on some music and cutting loose. If you really want to make dance your field of study, you have to learn that there more to dance than just moving. If you work hard, focus, and practice, you’ll definitely make it to Tisch.
